Many people have traveled throughout the country to visit friends and family this Thanksgiving holiday. Schoolchildren all over the nation put on presentations, dressed up as pilgrims and Native Americans, and acted out the first thanksgiving. In many ways, this Thanksgiving is just like all the others. Football fans anticipate the NFL games, food lovers sit around the table eating wonderfully prepared food, and plans are made to hit the stores as soon as the doors open to begin Christmas shopping. Yes, this season can be just one more like many before it.
However, it is my prayer that you will take time from your business, find a few quiet moments with God, and say “Thank you, God, for all you’ve blessed me with.” Let this this Thanksgiving holiday be the time when you begin living a life of thanksgiving to God. To the one who gave up his own, innocent son to pay for our sins, we owe a great deal of thanks. That thanks begins by accepting Jesus as savior.
Enjoy this Thanksgiving with family and friends; remember to thank God for even the little blessings in life.
Happy Thanksgiving!
